NPD sales figures are due out this upcoming Thursday, but like any other NPD week, predictions have been circulating for the past few days in advance. However, Michael Pachter is calling something that has yet to be seen here in North America; a PS3 hat trick over the 360.
To be precise, the Wedbush Morgan analyst stated that the PS3 sold about 365,000 in March which passes up the 360's predicted margin of 310,000. This will give the PlayStation 3 a three consecutive month dominance over its rival system, something new to the current console war and a sure sign of the changing of the guard soon to come. The Nintendo Wii was predicted to have out sold both the PS3 and 360 with 700,000 units, but Pachter is also stated that the demand for the Wii is "expected to outstrip supply well into 2008."
