A few weeks ago, we did a write about about the PSP utterly
cleaning house over in Japan, almost selling more than all the other systems combined. This past week, new sales figures were released and there was no changing of the guard to be seen. The Sony PlayStation Portable is still basking in the glory of the #1 spot, with a domineering 85,271 systems sold. Match that to the DS's 47,000, and you got a blow out on your hands. It really does seem the times are changing in the hand held market.
On a side note, data regarding the PlayStation 3 was also released. Sony CEO Jack Trenton sums it up nicely with "Our sales momentum continues to defy what is traditionally a sluggish sales month. PS3 continued the strong momentum with a year-over-year sales growth of over 98 percent.”
